The safety and well-being of our students and staff is a responsibility we all share. Sometimes a student, parent, staff member, or community member may become aware of a concern but may not know who to tell or may not feel comfortable reporting it directly.
Safe2Say South Dakota provides another way to speak up.
Safe2Say is a statewide, anonymous reporting system provided through the South Dakota Department of Public Safety. Students, parents, staff, and community members can use Safe2Say to report concerns involving the safety or well-being of a student, our schools, or our community.
Reports can be submitted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week:

When a report is submitted, trained Safe2Say personnel review the information and forward it to the appropriate local team so the concern can be evaluated and addressed.
We always encourage students to talk with a trusted adult—a parent, teacher, counselor, coach, administrator, or another adult they trust. However, we also recognize that there are times when someone may not feel comfortable doing so. Safe2Say provides a safe and anonymous way to make sure an important concern does not go unreported.
Speaking up isn't about getting someone in trouble. It can be about getting someone help, preventing a situation from becoming more serious, and looking out for one another.
