Below is a message sent by the SDHSAA. Please keep an eye on your accounts.
I received a call today that some parents/fans from O'Gorman and Harrisburg had fraudulent charges on their cards to places around the country following the volleyball tournament. One common denominator (hotels, etc) would be that they were in the championship game at the same time and there may have been someone in the crowd during that session with a credit card skimmer or something, and if you don't have an RFID blocking wallet, those devices can skim your cards wirelessly.
None of the fraudulent charges were to the Monument, and it doesn't appear to be anything linked to the Monument's system itself. We have no idea if it has anything at all to do with the event itself. I've reached out to the Monument and they don't have anything showing it could be their equipment, nor have they had anything they they're aware of happen like this at an event before. It could be skimmers from a gas station pump(s) that they all happened to use. It could really be anything.
There's really no way to tell what it was but I wanted to send a note to perhaps let your parents know to check their accounts. I hope it is limited to those folks who have discovered it already.
Thank you all for a great event, and have a great Thanksgiving.
