Dr. Summer Schultz, Dell Rapids Superintendent

On behalf of the DRPS Board of Education and all of us who work with and support your children, I want to welcome you back for another school year! A special welcome to new families who have chosen to entrust us with their students.  Although fall activities are up and running, our first official school day will be Thursday, August 25, 2022.

As you participate in Back-to-School activities, I encourage you to talk with staff members regarding their summer.  Many Quarrier staff spent the summer attending classes, reviewing achievement data, and finding ways to improve their craft.  I can assure you our teachers are dedicated and passionate individuals who want success for all students.

There are new faces on our Quarrier staff this year.  I am excited to introduce these individuals and ask that you welcome them to our school community.  You may recognize a couple of recent alumni; it is great to see former students taking an active role in the school district.

Madison Dilly           ES SPED                     Zack Zeig                   MS SPED Associate
Allie LaFave             ES SPED                     Aaron Walton            School Resource Officer
Larry Baker              MS Principal                Derek Genzlinger       Health/Assist. FB
Ty Hoglund               MS ETS/BBB Coach   Chloe Solberg            VB Assist. Coach
Grace Lickteig          MS VB Coach (1-year)

I encourage you to follow our district on Facebook, Instagram, and the DRPS website.  Information compiled from last spring’s stakeholder survey is being used to revamp our district website.  As the year goes on, the new layout should be up and going and we will again look for your feedback.

Finally, I thank you for allowing me to serve as your superintendent.  Working with your children is the most rewarding part of my career, and I do not take the position lightly. I am proud to be a Quarrier and look forward to another successful school year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Schultz
