 💻 Technology Readiness for 2026–2027

The Dell Rapids IT Department, led by Jeff Krumm, continues to manage over 1,500 teacher and student devices and hundreds of learning apps and software packages across the district. Our mission remains focused on equipping educators and staff with the tools they need to deliver exceptional learning experiences.

✅ Steps to Ensure Technology Readiness

To prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, please complete the following:

• Acceptable Use Policy

  • Access the Acceptable Use Policy via the link on this page. It outlines the essential goals, guidelines, and expectations for district technology use by staff and students.

• Student Device Insurance

  • If you would like to enroll in the district’s optional student device insurance program, by logging into infinite campus parent portal.

    • Annual Chromebook insurance: \$40 per student

    • Additional details are available in the Acceptable Use Policy.

• Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

  • If you plan to use a personal device at school, complete the Mobile Device Registration form available on this page and return it to the Tech Office.

• Report Tech Issues

  • Report all technology-related issues directly to the district Tech Office.

🆕 New Tech Highlights for 2026–2027

Recent updates and initiatives include:

• Infinite Campus payments. The district will no longer partner with MySchoolBucks for school meals and other related school services, such as bus passes, School Device coverage, and Food Service payments.

• New Phone System

  • Over the summer, the district partnered with Goldenwest Communications to install a new hosted phone system.

    • More than 120 new phones were installed across classrooms, shops, offices, and administrative areas.

    • The system is performing well, and we’re proud to work with our local Goldenwest team.

• New Server Management software

  • The district moved away from VMware and moved to Hyper-V this summer. This will save the district the cost of the VMware license, which is a significant savings.
