Lunch Count April 6-9 (NO Service Friday April 10 or Monday April 13)

Anyone ages 0-18 can participate in the Grab and Go meals from 11:30 am – 12:15 pm in the elementary and middle school lobbies.  Please keep in mind suppliers are struggling to provide some items, and we are only able to provide what is shipped. Breakfast items for the next day will be available for pickup with lunches.

If your child is NOT a DPRS student, but will be home alone, I will deliver them a meal.  Although our intention was to only deliver to DRPS students, I don’t want any child hungry during this time. Please let your child know to look for Deputy Mike Walker, Jeff Schmidt, or myself.

To assist with planning, please take a survey to provide a head count for meals.  The survey should be taken for each child in your family.  If you utilize both delivery and pick-up, please take the survey twice for your child and select the appropriate days for each option.

One, reimbursable lunch will be provided.  Additional items not donated will need to be charged to a student’s lunch account.

“Emergency Haven” for Critical Infrastructure Employees

Emergency Haven Icon

The Dell Rapids School District is collaborating with our regional partners to identify if our community has a need for childcare (school-aged 5 - 12 years old) for essential healthcare workers and emergency personnel.

While we recognize many families are at a hardship and every person is vital to keeping our community and country running, this survey is for the following defined individuals with children in our District:

-Patient-Facing Healthcare Workers
-Custodial and Long-term Care Facility Workers
-Emergency First Responders

-24/7 facility staff (jails/prison, developmental centers)

-Home care workers

-State and local public health and agency employees
*Identification of responsibility either in the form of a letter from the employer or work-issued identification badge may be required.

If a need exists, we hope to open on Tuesday, March 23.  Please submit interest by emailing me directly and answering a few brief questions on the attached survey.  I ask that the survey is completed by Sunday, March 29.

Thank you,

Summer Schultz
