Elementary School Principal

Hello DRES Families!

As the principal at DRES, I feel extremely grateful to work alongside such a dedicated staff, and feel equally as lucky to work with such amazing students and their families.  Knowing we have the youngest learners in our district at DRES, we work to establish a positive school experience that leads to a love of learning for all.

In November 2019, DRES was honored to be recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School.  That year we were one of 362 schools in the nation given that honor.  With this honor, DRES was recognized as an exemplary high performing school as measured by state assessments.  It is said that greatness is a lot of small things done well every day.  At DRES, we work hard every day to continue to achieve greatness.

This year, we will continue with our Quarrier Kids of Character program.  Each day in our morning announcements we read our character trait of the month and what it means to display that trait.  This year we will focus on Respect, Self-Control, Gratitude, Kindness, Integrity, Fairness, Perseverance, Responsibility, and Sportsmanship.  Having this common language among our staff and students helps support the practice of what it means to be a Quarrier Kid of Character.   Ask an elementary student which character trait we are focusing on each month.  Hopefully they can tell you what it means!

As a parent, you are one of the most valuable team members in your child’s education.  At DRES we invite you to take an active role in your child’s education at home.  Regular communication with your child’s teacher(s) is so beneficial to assure that we are all on the same page for your student’s educational success.

I look forward to another great school year at DRES!  We Rock!!
