Are you undecided about sending your child to Kindergarten this fall because you are not sure if your child is ready? As parents of an eligible Kindergarten student, you are eager to know as much as possible about the school experience you child will have. However, you might still have those questions running through your mind.
The Dell Rapids School District is committed to providing the essential skills and knowledge to each student. The Dell Rapids School District will begin a Kindergarten Prep program this fall. This program is designed for children who are age eligible to begin school but are not ready for the demands of Kindergarten.
The Kindergarten Prep curriculum will be designed to engage children in their learning process, inspire their curiousity, and encourage play environments. The focus is put on developing the child socially, emotionally, academically and physically through a rich and encouraging classroom experience. These readiness skills enable children to perform to the best of their ability upon entering Kindergarten the following school year.
Our goal is for your child to have a meaningful school experience that will provide a strong bridge to Kindergarten. Please call the elementary school office by June 1st if your child will be five on or before September 1 and you are interested in this programming offer.
